Tags are a way to group pages by subject, or keyword.

Manage group wiki pages - When students are working in teams, wiki pages can proliferate like crazy. Ask your students to tag each page with their group name -- that way you can see all the pages the group is working on.

Track your important pages - There may be some pages on a wiki that you visit constantly - you can put them in the sidebar, or just tag them with your name. This makes finding wiki pages super easy.
