HOW TO  - Create a table of contents

Edit your wiki  - Use the Format options to create an outline for your page.

  1. Title your page using Heading 1
  2. Create a section heading using Heading 2
  3. Create paragraph headings using Heading 3

After creating a headings - click on the 'Insert Plug in' link

  1. Hover over 'PBwiki Magic'
  2. Choose 'Table of Contents'
  3. Place the green 'Table of contents' box where you want on your wiki page.

Using brief headings AS YOU COMPOSE the page!

  1. I like to freely compose a page, WITH the PBwiki Magic Table of Contents entered right from the start!
  2. It allows you to watch the table of contents being populated as you go, and edit at will if the links don't make the kind of logical sense you want.
  3. Made a heading where it didn't belong?  Change the format of the text, and make it the way you want.

Use Back to Top of Page for navigating convenience!

  1. When you milk the table of contents for all it's worth, your pages can get l-o-o-o-n-n-g
  2. Here's how to get around that:  Put little to nothing before your table of contents PBwiki Magic tool; this way "back to top" will take you essentially back to your table of contents!
  3. Here's what you need.  Just get into "edit" mode, and copy this:  <back to Top of Page> Then paste it into your own wiki.
  4. Use a composed page as model and save it inside your wiki: you can get when you need
  5.

By the way, you can change the displayed font size on your page of any "heading size"!

  1. The cool thing about using all three heading sizes is table of contents outlining elegance and/or logic!  Using ALL the heading sizes enables more nesting of stuff in your t-o-c.

Here is default size Heading 1

Here is a Heading 1, but done in x-small!

Here is default size heading 2.

Here is heading 2, but done in x-small.

And here is default size heading 3.

You got the idea...heading 3, but done in x-small.
